Welcome from Dr. Ormond

In the words of Mr. Jeff Tarnowski, University of North Georgia's Vice President for Advancement, "UNG is a special place," with a long tradition of excellence dating back to 1873. Besides being the University System of Georgia's designated military college, UNG has blossomed into a destination institution where students are immersed in quality academic programs designed to meet their dreams and aspirations.

On behalf of the Office of Academic Affairs I want to welcome you to the University of North Georgia and to encourage you to take the time to visit the support materials contained within this website. Please remember that the Office of Academic Affairs wants you to be successful at UNG and in your future lives. To this end don't hesitate to contact our office if you are in need of assistance and we will direct you to the appropriate place to provide you help.

Welcome to the University of North Georgia and good luck on your path to academic success.

Tom Ormond Ph.D.
Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs

What is a Provost?

The Provost is the chief academic officer of a university. He or she has the responsibility for the university's academic and budgetary affairs. The provost collaborates with the President of the university in setting overall academic priorities for the university. Given the broad scope of Academic Affairs, there are numerous entities which fall under the umbrella of the Provost's Office.

UNG follows Section 508 Standards and WCAG 2.0 for web accessibility. If you require the content on this web page in another format, please contact the ADA Coordinator.
