Dahlonega Campus Art Exhibits

Bob Owens Art Gallery

The Bob Owens Art Gallery is located on the top floor of the Hoag Student Center across from the Great Room. The Bob Owens Art Gallery hosts approximately six exhibitions annually, including the “Hal B. Rhodes Student Exhibition,” and “Appalachia Here and Now.”

Gallery Hours during Exhibits:

  • Monday through Friday: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Saturday: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Sunday: 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Outdoor Life: Works by Didi Dunphy

Didi Dunphy uses a variety of media to explore the intersection of art, performance, and design. Dunphy fabricates “objects that facilitate an interactive cooperative play,” turning the public into performer and sculpture into plaything.

September 25 - October 30

Outsiders: the Paintings of Terry Rowlett

Terry Rowlett paints highly representational images of contemporary figures in natural landscapes, with compositions informed by art historical references. In many of his paintings, Rowlett explores a catastrophic or apocalyptic vision of civilization.

Southern Printmaking Biennale VI

The Southern Printmaking Biennale is a juried exhibit of original, innovative works in all printmaking media including monotypes, large-scale prints, and three-dimensional prints. The juror for the 2014 Southern Printmaking Biennale is Ericka Walker, Assistant Professor of Printmaking at Nova Scotia College of Art & Design and winner of the 2010 Southern Printmaking Biennale V.

Reception: November 6, 5pm

Woven Together: Tapestry Weavers South

The members of Tapestry Weavers South, an organization formed in 1996 to advance the art and craft of tapestry weaving, present an exhibit of tapestries. Documents that show the design process used to create those tapestries will also be on display.
