Citations are issued against any vehicle illegally or improperly parked on campus. All parking rules and regulations can and will be enforced 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Parking fines may be paid online or in person at the UNG Card Services/Parking Services office in Gainesville, Oconee and Cumming, or Parking Services in Dahlonega. Fines paid in office may be paid by credit/debit card(Discover, Master Card or Visa) or cash. If using coins to pay fines they must be rolled because the university Business Office will not accept loose change. Unpaid fines may prohibit patrons from receiving a parking permit for the following semester/year. Also, distribution of the permit may be placed on hold until the outstanding balance is paid.
Unpaid citations are subject to collection and/or institutional policies. Students with unpaid citations will have those parking fees added to their Banner account.
Additionally, citations written against vehicles not in the University of North Georgia (UNG) parking system will be traced via the Department of Motor Vehicles, through which address information is obtained and used for collection purposes.
Citations can be appealed within seven days of being written. After the appeal process is completed, the citation will be upheld, voided, or reduced.
Campus Police on all campuses are issuing working violations ie: speeding, firelane and accessible, etc, on a Uniform Traffic Citation (UTC). Any UTC issued by Campus Police may not be appealed through Parking Services. If you have questions concerning UTC's all contact information is printed on the back of the UTC.
