STUDENTS: How to Search and Apply for On-Campus Positions

To Log Into the System & Search Openings

  • Go to the Career Services webpage.
  • Click on The UNG Job Board.
  • Select “Students.”
  • If you have already registered on The UNG Job Board, click Sign In.  If this is your first time accessing The UNG Job Board, click Create Account and create an account using your nine-digit student ID for the Access ID.
    • Career Services will receive notification of your registration and will approve your account within one business day.
    • In the first box at the top of the page, select “Search for Jobs/Opportunities Posted to My School”.
    • To bring up all jobs posted on campus, scroll to Job Location and select “On Campus” and click “Begin Search”.
    • Click the number under “Job ID” to view the job description and learn about the requirements, how to apply, the contact information, and more.
  • On-campus positions may also be found by searching the Human Resources UNG Job Site.  For further information regarding this search tool, please contact Human Resources.

To Apply for Student Assistant Positions

(Open to ALL students)

  1. Once you find a position of interest, follow the instructions to apply either in person or via e-mail. The student employment application may also need to be completed if required and is located under the Employment section.
  2. Once an on-campus employer makes a hiring decision, s/he will submit the online Student Work Agreement to begin the hiring process.  The department chair or department budget manager and HR must all approve the request in the system prior to the student starting.
  3. Once the Student Work Agreement has been approved by the department chair or department budget manager, an email is generated to the student, asking him/her to complete and submit the Student Employment Paperwork and Information Packet to the HR department.  If the student is a rehire, (so if the department chooses yes that the student has worked on campus before) once the department chair or department budget manager and HR approve, the student will receive an email with instructions on how to reactivate his/her timecard.
  4. Once all paperwork has been completed and received by HR, the faculty/staff member will receive an email notification that the student may begin working.

To Apply for Federal Work Study Positions**

(Open ONLY to students receiving a Federal Work Study financial award)

  1. Once you receive a Federal Work Study financial award letter from the Financial Aid office, go to The UNG Job Board (instructions above) to view open FWS positions.
  2. Follow the instructions to apply either in person or via e-mail. The student employment application may also need to be completed if required and is located under the Employment section.
  3. Once a hiring decision is made, the faculty/staff member completes and submits the online Student Work Agreement to begin the hiring process.  Financial Aid, the department chair or department budget manager must all approve the request in the system prior to the student starting.
  4. Once the Student Work Agreement has made it through the approval process, an email is generated to the student, asking them to complete and submit the Student Employment Paperwork and Information Packet to the HR Department.  If the student is a rehire, (so if the department chooses yes that the student has worked on campus before) once the department chair or department budget manager and HR approve, the student will receive an email with instructions on how to reactivate his/her timecard.
  5. Once all paperwork has been completed and received by HR, the faculty/staff member will receive an email notification that the student may begin working.
** For these positions, the employer will be listed as “University of North Georgia- Federal Work Study”, and the Job Type will be “Work Study.”
