On Wednesday, October 29, 2014, Rudolph Hermond, senior vice president of retail sales operations for AT&T, spoke to students on UNG's Gainesville campus.
In his position, Hermond is responsible for all wireless sales operations for AT&T and was appointed to his position in 2011. In June 2014, Hermond received a Retail Innovator Award fromRetail Touchpoints which honors retail executives and thought leaders who develop and foster innovation and strategies in retail environments. Prior to his appointment, Hermond served as vice president, merger operations and served in that capacity since June 2009.
Previously he served as VPGM of the AT&T consumer market in north Florida. In 1993, Hermond relocated to Atlanta from New York to work for Bellsouth Mobility as manager of engineering. He also worked briefly in the defense industry for Raytheon Corporation prior to joining Nynex Mobile Communications in 1989. Throughout his tenure with AT&T, he has held a variety of network, sales & marketing and sales operations positions.
Hermond holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Syracuse University. He and his wife, Brenda, reside in Atlanta, and have two children, Crystal and Chelsea.
