Faculty Writing Group
Tenured or tenure-track faculty will work together to set individual writing goals, build momentum in productivity, provide editing, and foster productive community. Ideally, Faculty Writing Groups will consist of at least six and no more than twelve tenure-track or tenured faculty.
Each Group will designate one individual to serve as the “leader” of the group. This person will submit a 2-5 page written report on or before May 1st summarizing the Group’s work and the ways in which the Group supported its members scholarly productivity. Digital photographs of the circle’s meetings are also welcome.
Faculty should recruit their own membership by networking and communicating within and across disciplines.
Funding is provided by the UNG Foundation. Support up to $250 will be provided for participants to purchase books or other relevant materials. A portion of the funds may also be used to hold meetings at coffee shops or over lunch.
Reimbursement: All original receipts must be submitted to the CTLL office by May 1st. Be sure to keep a copy for your own records. To apply, please fill out the Faculty Writing Group online form (login required) that asks for the following information:
- Name of Faculty Writing Group
- Name of Faculty Writing Group Leader
- List of FWG members
- Members’ College(s)
- Proposed outline of expected activities
- Broad goal(s) for FWG
Applications may be submitted throughout the year, but funding is limited. Please apply early.
