GALILEO is an online service that allows users to search through many databases for journal articles.
To access the GALILEO password, log in to your GIL account here.
The GALILEO password is for the sole use of currently enrolled or employed University of North Georgia students, faculty, and staff. This password may not be shared with others.
GIL-Find@UNG is an online service that allows users to search for books, e-books, and DVDs at your local UNG library location.
You can also search for books at other schools in the University System of Georgia and request them through GIL Express. To search all University System of Georgia library collections, use the GIL Universal Catalog.
You don’t need a password to search GIL-Find, but you will need a PIN to request books from other campuses, renew items you have checked out, etc. Fill out this form and click “Get My PIN.” Your PIN will be emailed to you, and you can use this to log in to your GIL account.
Many area of the UNG website request a campus username and password. This is the combination you will use to access UNG email, BANNER registration, etc.
Username is the first letter of your first name, first letter of your middle name, first four letters of your last name, and last four digits of your 900 #.
for John A. Smith, student # 90001118.
Password is the last four numbers of your Social Security number, followed by your two-digit date of birth.
for SSN 555-55-3456, birthday July 9
*if you don’t have a Social Security number, use 0000
Students may be prompted for their proxy server login when using electronic resources and databases.
Last name - Enter your full last name. If your last name contains any punctuation, spaces, or suffixes, use them, for example: If your last name is O'Conner, enter: o'conner; If your last name is Smith-Bates, enter: smith-bates; If your last name is Baker Jones, enter: baker jones; If your last name includes a suffix, enter it also, such as Morrison IV, enter: morrison iv or Brown Jr. enter: brown jr.
