Information Assurance & Security Minor

Information assurance is about assuring information and managing the risks related to the use, processing, storage and transmission of information and its security.

A minor in information assurance and security is designed for students who are interested in exploring opportunities in information assurance and network security as a career or to support their current major.

Students minoring in information assurance and security explore 5 courses in the topic including information security, computer security, computer forensics, management of information security and network security.

Students must complete the following courses to complete a minor in information assurance and security:

  • CSCI 3050 – Information Security
  • CSCI 3250 – Computer Security
  • CSCI 3350 – Computer Forensics
  • CSCI 3550 – Management of Information Security
  • CSCI 4650 – Network Security
