Jobs & Internships
The Mike Cottrell College of Business partners with both regional and international business organizations to provide internship opportunities that enhance academic understanding and work-readiness. Through the College’s Center for the Future of North Georgia, students are connected with these organizations so that both parties can determine the best fit.
Recently, students have been engaged in internships at local and regional businesses across a number of industries, including financial services, not-for-profit, manufacturing, accounting, and retail. Students have been exposed to work environments in finance, operations, accounting, marketing, and general management. Through these internships, our students increase their chances of a fast start when they graduate and obtain a job.
Students of the Mike Cottrell College of Business are keenly aware of the value of international experience in the job market. Our students have entered internships across multiple countries, including Germany, England, Turkey, and France.
In addition to internships, students are exposed to international business through our study abroad programs. One of those programs, the London Experience, allows students to travel to England and be directly exposed to business dealings in Europe.
In 2013, students participating in the London Experience study abroad program observed international commerce and experienced international travel and cultural diversity within a structured environment.
These programs allow graduates to enter the business marketplace with real-world experience, gained through either an internship or international travel. Diversity and experience now comprise an important cornerstone of education in today’s ever-changing business environment, and students from the Mike Cottrell College of Business are more marketable and have greater opportunities than ever before.
