Cadet Admissions

Do I have what it takes?

Our Corps of Cadets is challenging. If YOU

  • are physically and mentally strong;
  • live by the values of Courage, Integrity, Loyalty, Respect, Service, Truth and Wisdom... in a word "Honor".
  • are a disciplined young man or woman who would enjoy a military structure, but don't need that structure to succeed;
  • DO NOT smoke pot, or abuse any legal or illegal drugs or substances;
  • are an academically qualified high school student
    • cumulative GPA is above 2.4 in your college-prep courses (electives not factored in)
    • Freshman Index (FI)* is above 2250 OR;
  • are an academically qualified college transfer student
    • with at least 30 transferrable hours
    • and a 2.5 cumulative GPA on all of your college work

YOU Have What It Takes!

Not everyone who applies for admission will be offered acceptance to the university as a Cadet. Becoming a Cadet is more competitive than ever. We received over 825 applications for Summer and Fall 2012 for 300 spaces. The average college-prep GPA of new Cadets was 3.26 and the average SAT was a 1105 (combined critical reading and math) for 2012-2013.

*FI = (Cumulative College Prep GPA x 500) + SAT Math + SAT Critical Reading OR (Cumulative College Prep GPA x 500) + (ACT Composite x 42) + 88
