The Commandant of Cadets welcomes you to Cadet Overnight Visitation Experience. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to experience the Corps of Cadets first-hand by participating in the activities of the day.
You will report to the staff duty officer in the Pennington Military Leadership Center on campus between 5:30 and 6:00 PM. You will be met by a Cadet who will serve as your host. He or she will escort you to the Cadet residence hall and show you where you will sleep. You will then go to the dining facility to eat supper. After supper, you will observe and participate in various activities until lights out. You will sleep in a Cadet room.
In the morning, you will wake, conduct personal hygiene, and participate in physical fitness training, room inspection, or training with your Cadet host. Afterward, you will clean up, get dressed for classes, and eat breakfast in the dining facility. You will then attend classes with your host.
At 11 AM, you will go to the the third floor of the new Chestatee Building (#122 on the Campus Map) and into the Cadet Admissions Office where you will receive information on the programs and opportunities available at UNG that fit your goals for college. We will also tell you about the various scholarship and financial aid options available. Your parents may join you for this session. Note that if you have already been to UNG for a personal visit and tour with Cadet Admissions, you will not receive a presentation. However, we will answer any questions you may have.
When this session is complete, your host will bring you to the dining facility to eat lunch. You parents may eat lunch with you. Lunch is part of your $30 fee, so you won't have to pay an additional fee. Let the dining facility host know to charge your meal/s to Cadet Admissions.
After lunch, you will pick up your belongings from your dorm room, and then you're free to go home.
