Scholarships

A limited number of music scholarships are available to outstanding students who declare a major in music or who commit to substantial participation in the activities of the music programs on the Dahlonega or Gainesville Campus. Music scholarships come from a variety of sources and have specific requirements:

Dahlonega Campus Scholarships

Gloria Shott Fine Arts Scholarship
Available to students who declare a major in music or music education.

C. J. Dismukes Music Scholarship
Available to students who declare a major in music or music education and who commit to substantial participation in the activities of the music program.

Marching Band Scholarship
Available to students who commit to participation in the Competitive Marching Band.

Cadet Band Scholarship
Available to members of the Corps of Cadets who commit to participation in the Ceremonial Marching Band.

UNG Foundation Scholarship
Available to students who commit to participation in music ensembles as needed by the Department of Music.

Orchestra Scholarship
Available to students who commit to participation in orchestra.

Gainesville Campus Scholarships

Vocal Music Scholarship
Available to students who declare a major in music or music education.

Instrumental Music Scholarship
Available to students who declare a major in music or music education.

Vocal Performance Award
Available to students who commit to participation in the UNG Chorale.

Instrumental Performance Award
Available to students who commit to participation in an instrumental music ensemble.

Piano Accompanying Scholarship
Available to students who declare a major in music or music education. Students receiving this scholarship must commit to serve as a piano accompanist as needed for the music department.

Auditions

Students who audition for the music program are automatically considered for scholarships. Non-majors who wish to be considered for a music scholarship must audition before the music faculty.

Audition Dates for 2016-17 (students should audition on the campus they plan to attend):
November 5, 2016 (Dahlonega and Gainesville)
February 4, 2017 (Dahlonega and Gainesville)
March 25, 2017 (Dahlonega and Gainesville)
July 29, 2017 (Gainesville only)
