Public Safety hires, promotes officers in Gainesville

The Department of Public Safety on the Gainesville campus recently hired two new police officers.

Officer Tift Mattox retired from the Gainesville Police Department after working there for 21 years. He was a detective and worked persons and property crimes.

Officer Charles Belflower is also a new member of the Police Department. He is not new to GSC, having transitioned from being a security officer at the Oconee Campus to being a police officer. Belflower worked for three years at the Oconee Campus and worked for the Athens-Clarke Co. Police Department prior to coming to GSC.

Officer Salvador Taguba was recently promoted to sergeant and is the supervisor at the Oconee Campus. He has worked at the Gainesville Campus for 2 years. Prior to coming to GSC, he retired from the Gwinnett County Police Department as a sergeant after working there for 20 years.
