Staff member earns professional certification

Judith Brauer, proposal developer in Grants & Contracts for the University of North Georgia, earned the Grant Professional Certified (GPC) Credential in January. The GPC validates knowledge of and competency in the grants profession through education, experience, professional development, community involvement, and an examination.

According to the Grant Professionals Certification Institute (GPCI), this certification program "measures an individual's ability to provide quality grant-related services within an ethical framework. The GPC Examination was designed within National Commission of Certifying Agencies guidelines, and has been psychometrically proven to be valid and reliable."

All candidates applying for the GPC must submit an experience-based application before they are eligible to sit for the examination, and each application is scored by a panel of trained grant professionals.
