Jenna Colvin has joined the University of North Georgia (UNG) as university counsel. Her appointment was effective September 1. In this newly created position, Colvin becomes the chief legal affairs officer for the university and will advise the university administration on legal and policy issues.
"Universities are complex organizations that deal with a wide variety of legal issues, including contracts, intellectual property, state and federal regulations, and student and employee matters," said UNG President Bonita C. Jacobs. "Jenna brings valuable professional experience to this new position and will be a tremendous asset to the University of North Georgia."
Colvin previously was a partner with FSB Fisher Broyles, where she created the firm's higher education practice area and served as outside counsel for the Georgia Independent College Association, the University of North Georgia, Young Harris College, and other higher education clients. Prior to that, Colvin was an attorney with the Atlanta office of Alston & Bird.
Colvin earned bachelor's and law degrees from the University of Miami. She is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the National Association of College and University Attorneys.
