Group Ex - Dahlonega
If you have never been involved with group exercises classes before, don’t be shy. Classes are geared towards all ability levels, so bring a buddy and come check it out! Our instructors will motivate and guide you through various exercises, bringing fresh ideas and inspiration to your work-out plan.
Unless otherwise specified, classes have room for 30 participants. These spots will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. To attend a Group Ex class, visit the Rec Center Front Desk and complete the waiver and get an attendee card. It is recommended that you arrive early to guarantee a spot.
Please be aware that in order to attend two classes in a row you must leave the room and obtain another attendee card. Guests of the facility may not attend Group Ex classes.
A total body workout that utilizes barres to perform small, isometric movements, which burn fat and sculpt muscles with an emphasis on the lower body and core.
This 45-minute class will take you through a series of cardio and strength training exercises to help you burn fat and strengthen your muscles! This class offers a variety of workout styles that will suite every body.
Conditions the muscles by blending plyometrics, agility drills, and core challenging techniques to give you the ultimate workout.
This workout is designed to give you an alternative, yet challenging workout! The workouts will consist of non-contact basic techniques, numerous offensive and defensive drills as well as many other aspects of boxing! Never done boxing before? That’s ok! Our group fitness boxing instructors will teach the basics as well as advanced techniques to everyone! Blow off some steam and get fit! Due to equipment limitations, this class is limited to 15 participants, first come first serve.
Join the ultimate Dance- Fitness party!
Combines the power of kicking, punching, and explosive movements to produce a killer workout. This class is designed in intervals for proper conditioning and recovery.
Sweat through 45 minutes of stations that involve strength and cardio exercises using dumbbells, medicine balls, stability balls, body weight and more! This class is designed to show you the proper technique and correct form and alignment to execute exercises that target all muscle groups.
A select group of instructors will work together on a rotational basis so that students coming to this class will get to experience different class types. Fall classes will include pilates, barre, piloxing, yoga, circuits, body sculpt, cardio dance, and spin.
Low Impact Cardio
Enjoy a cardio class specifically geared to those that need to keep at least one foot on the ground at all times.
This form of exercise challenges the mind/body connection of participants who strive to achieve the principles of centering, concentration, control, precision, breath, and flow all while working from the core in every exercise.
A cardio fusion class that incorporates pilates, boxing, and dancing all into one sweat-packed workout.
Resistance, Intervals, Power, Plyometrics, and Endurance. It's a pre-choreographed, athletic based workout that incorporates weights and cardio and its set to some awesome music!
Enjoy a cycling workout designed to increase your cardiovascular endurance with high-energy music and exhilarating rides that include sprints, climbs and jumps. Due to equipment limitations, this class is limited to 7 participants.
This is a complete workout that utilizes power movements, plyometrics, and weight lifting. Learn the proper form for a variety of movements and lifts. This class meets in the atrium of the Rec Center.
Participate in a variety of poses to increase both strength and flexibility. Basic mediation and sun salutations are covered.
Zumba takes the "work" out of workout, by mixing low-intensity and high-intensity moves for an interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness party. Once the Latin and World dance rhythms take over, you'll see why Zumba® Fitness classes are often called exercise in disguise. Each Zumba®class is designed to bring people together to sweat it on.
