Enrichment and Recreation

Summer Honors never leaves out the fun! The rock climbing and rappelling event at Mt. Yonah is the capstone to our adventure-learning leadership curriculum, and days at Pine Valley include not only leadership events but also fun events and leisure time. Along with enthusiastic professors and intriguing academics, Summer Honors provides enrichment activities and fun.

Each year, Summer Honors hosts an Etiquette Dinner, a pool party with a giant Slip-N-Slide, Camp Olympics, trips to visit the historic Dahlonega Square and a lock-in style Counselor Party in the dorm. Trips to the University of North Georgia (UNG) observatory allow students to look through the university's 16" research grade telescope. The UNG Astronomy programs also provides a private show just for Summer Honors in the UNG planetarium. We have free time to visit the Student Center and Bookstore and to hang out in the dorm.

Students experience a rigorous academic and leadership environment. Yet, in every component of camp, we make a concerted effort to inject excitement and fun. Most often, we succeed.
