Profiles - Directory Information vs. Bio Information

Overview

Profile pages and department faculty/staff listings are a combination of directory information and bio Information.

Directory information is pulled from Active Directory, where some of the data is supplied by Human Resources and other data is supplied by the department or other offices.

Bio information is supplied by the department via the profile page you create in your site.

These items are the minimum that is displayed on a profile page. They are pulled in from Active Directory and are formatted for you.

    • Lists of items are easiest to read as a bulleted list, such as in Courses Taught.
    • Paragraphs are good for the Overview and/or Research/Special Interests.
    • POV:  All text should be written in third person point of view (POV) (he/she rather than "I").
