Academic Road Map

UNG's Flagship curriculum is designed to assist students achieve superior (ILR level 3) language proficiency, as defined by the American Council for Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL). The Language Flagship is normally a five-year program. During the first four years students take core curriculum and major courses while learning Chinese. During that time, students will have the opportunity to study both on campus and abroad. The fifth academic year (capstone) will be spent at one of The Language Flagship centers in China. During the first semester in China, students will take courses taught in the Chinese language. During the second semester, students will participate in an internship in a Chinese business or government entity related to their major area of study.

Students will receive their bachelor's degree after completing the fifth academic year in China. ROTC Cadets will then commission as second lieutenants. If you are not a Cadet, you are an excellent candidate for federal government or private sector jobs.
