Research/Special Interests

Dr. Aanes's research has centered on concept mapping’s learning effects on adults.  His dissertation, Differential Effects of Concept Mapping on Non-Science Majors in a Beginner’s College Biology Course (2013), addressed this research.  He is also interested in ways in which older adult students can better prepare for the collegiate experience and therefore reduce expensive remediation.
