    Pre-Veterinary Medicine Biology Students

Pre-Veterinary Medicine students commonly major in biology but may choose any major they wish. Pre-Veterinary Medicine is an academic advisement area. We offer focused advisement by professors who advise other Pre-Veterinary Medicine students. They are familiar with veterinary schools and their admission requirements. Some things for Pre-Veterinary Medicine students to keep in mind are:

    • Most veterinary schools require letters of recommendation. Three letters are adequate. One of these should be from a veterinarian you have spent a good deal of time with so that he can comment on your understanding of the profession.
    • You must take certain courses at the right time to be prepared for the Graduate Record Exam (GRE). Students usually take the GRE during the spring semester of their third year.
    • Find out about applying to veterinary school at Veterinary Medical College Application Service (VMCAS) website.
