What We Do
We are here to help students and alumni, starting with that first decision of choosing (or changing!) a major, all the way to graduate school decisions and beyond. We assist with resumes, computerized self-assessments, internships, career exploration, job search, interviewing skills, and more, and host events such as career fairs, employer speakers, workshops, an etiquette dinner, and on-campus interviews.
How You Can Help
Encourage your student to visit our office. Students and alumni are allowed unlimited one-on-one appointments with career counselors, so if you get that phone call from your son or daughter and you detect anxiety or indecision regarding anything career-related, please encourage him or her to come see us!
Students can schedule an appointment contacting us via the choices below:
**Because we believe in the importance of student buy-in, we require the student to schedule his/her own meeting.
Recruit on campus or consider hosting an intern. If you work for an organization or company that hires new graduates, we’d love to speak with you about recruiting at UNG! Simply e-mail the director, Diane Farrell or call 706-864-1951. To learn more about the types of recruiting events sponsored by Career Services, go to Employer Services.
In addition, if you would like to consider hosting a junior or senior for a semester-long internship (a work experience highly related to a student’s major, usually for academic credit), contact our Internship Coordinator at the number mentioned above.
We look forward to partnering with you!
To stay abreast of scheduled activities at the Dahlonega campus, we invite you to read our monthly newsletter, The Bottom Line.
