Artist’s Statement

I am passionate about capturing moments that allow my people to celebrate those beautiful moments forever. Capturing people in their candid moments, including both natural and celebratory settings, and maximizing the use of available elements excites me. Inspired by the cinematic and dramatic style of photography, I find myself completely immersed in the entire journey from the photo shoot to post-production and my passion is reflected in my photographs. A combination of experimentation with technical aspects of photography and inspiration in artistic aspects brings complete joy to my photography passion. Every finished photograph reflects the hours of dedication and personalized attention I put in to making sure they truly capture the charm of the moment. I experience the world through my lens by creating, editing, and working with photographs. My photographs are there to enable reliving the moment that has passed, to keep the memories alive, to witness a tragedy or joy, or to understand a historical moment. I am determined to keep working towards learning more and more about the universal language of photography that truly speaks to the heart.

Artist’s Biography

I was born and brought up in a middle-class family in India where owning a camera was considered a luxury and was extremely rare.  In 1995, soon after I started my professional career in the corporate world after I completed my engineering degree, I had the opportunity to travel to the United Kingdom. A Pentax film camera was one of my first  expensive gadget purchases. I was so excited reading through manual, experimenting with the camera, and taking pictures everywhere including some beautiful landscapes in and around London, Scotland, Edinburg, Paris without worrying about the final result after the production of the photographs. I don’t remember how many films I wasted capturing beautiful lights in Edinburg and Paris using the “bulb mode” with a handheld camera. Since then, interest in taking pictures has become a part of and was accelerated with the arrival of smartphone cameras, instant sharing, and getting praises. In September 2018, I indulged myself to take my journey to the next level by enrolling in professional photography classes at UNG towards the professional certification. I am thankful to my instructors and colleagues for the numerous discussions and productive feedbacks that have helped me in sculpting my work. Since then, I have done many photo shoots capturing moments in events and other spontaneous shoots. The generous feedback from everyone has motivated me to continue my journey which I enjoy each and every day!
