Holly Manders Photography Exhibition

Artist Statement

Nature and traveling has always been a passion of mine, it just so happens photography fits perfectly with the two. My goal is to make you crave living, want to leave the bubble we can tend to stay in. Although I mainly photograph nature, I love capturing people in their natural happiness or daily lives. Capturing a couple who are so in love and have forever to go. Or a child that has their entire life ahead of them.

I find myself simply amazed at the editing process to make others see what the photographer sees, hopefully at a different aspect. Every photograph comes from the heart and is stared at for weeks before I will show anyone. As a photographer we experience a different world view, mainly through the lens.

Artist Bio

My mother growing up took every day as an opportunity to capture moments. Every-time her Kodak would come out my sister and I would roll our eyes while standing it the ugliest puffiest matching dresses. Their was no Facebook, just simply wanting to capture people she loves. Little did we know, 20 years later we’d be sitting in the floor laughing, knowing we’d give anything to go back to these moments. That’s what photography is, moments you love. I owe my love for photography to my mom, without her teaching me how important moments are, I’d never want to capture them. Seeing my family members smiling that have passed on, is a sorrowful but joyful bonding experience that one can have.

My Canon is always by my side now wherever I go, you never know what moment can be captured that day. In other words, I’m my mother now.
