Robert Funk Photography Exhibition

Artist Statement

A picture is just that, a snapshot of something. Photography is an image that provides the viewer with an emotional response to a scene or situation. An opportunity to experience the same sensory response that the photographer did at the time of the capture. The ideal response to a photograph is for the viewer to feel like they are transported to the place and time of the image as if they are experiencing it first-hand.

Artist Bio

I began taking photos to capture images of family and family events. As I gained more experience, I started to explore landscape, portrait, and architectural photography which evolved to include panoramic and macro. When looking at subjects to capture, I enjoy taking images that either capture a unique, unfamiliar view of a familiar object or capturing a dramatic image of a subject matter that might otherwise be overlooked. My favorite responses to an image are “Wow, I had never seen those details” or “I had never noticed that before”.
