Chemistry Pathway

In addition to the three American Chemical Society (ACS) certified Bachelor of Science degrees, the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry also offers an Associate of Science in Core Curriculum with pathway courses related to chemistry. The associate degree curriculum is centered on foundational courses in chemistry and mathematics with elective courses in biology, analytical chemistry, mathematics and/or physics. The associate degree is attractive to many students because it can be completed in just two years.

What can you do with a career in chemistry?

The associate degree is a portal to many exciting and fulfilling career options in chemistry.  Those earning associate degrees can get laboratory technician positions in private industry; local, state, and federal government; and academia.  Many companies and government entities rely on chemistry technicians to perform a myriad of lab procedures to ensure safety and quality.
