    Theatre & Entertainment Technology Certificate

The program is no longer accepting applications.

The Theatre and Entertainment Technology Certificate is one of a few in the nation and the only one in north Georgia that trains students to work in all facets of the entertainment industry. This unique program is designed to prepare individuals to work as skilled technicians, capable of functioning independently, or as part of a production team in the preparation and performance of theatrical/entertainment events. With Atlanta serving as the “entertainment capital of the south” and expected growth and development in the entertainment field, this certificate program will provide exciting opportunities for graduates.

Sound and lighting technology are rapidly growing industries that are quickly finding new markets related to architecture and design, movie production, corporate theatre, religious institutions, national business conventions, commercials, and special event installations.

Whether taken as a stand-alone program or taken in conjunction with a major of study, students who complete the certificate will have a broad understanding of theatre and its technical aspects. This program will prepare students for further advanced study and/or provides them with the skills and knowledge to be competitive in the entertainment industry. The internships are supported by a number of professional production companies in the southeast.
