Returnee Opportunities

Mentor an International Student

The mentor/mentee program is a volunteer program where study abroad alumni assist incoming international students adjust to the culture at UNG. If you are interested in participating, please contact us.

Join an International Club or Organization

Another way for you to become involved on campus would be to join an internationally focused club or organization. The Dahlonega and Gainesville campuses have active International Student Association organizations where you can interact with international students and also other students interested in internationalization! These groups are great outlets for you to share your study abroad experience and for you to be a part of an international student's study abroad experience. For more information, visit Student Involvement's Student Organizations page.

Become an International Peer Advisor (IPA)

The CGE offers the opportunity for education abroad alumni to volunteer in the office as an IPA. An IPA will assist students on the education abroad application process, attend class presentations, and promote education abroad opportunities that are available at UNG. In order to participate in the IPA program, the education abroad returnee has to complete an application and training program. They are also expected to maintain good academic standing and a 2.5 GPA. A limited number of paid positions are available along with volunteer positions.  Please come meet our IPAs in Price Memorial Hall 104, Dahlonega campus. If you are interested in participating in the program, contact us.
