UNG Fraternity and Sorority Life: Fraternities Video Transcript

There are many benefits to joining a fraternity on campus. The leadership: like building yourself up from the ground and becoming a better leader. The service: committing yourself to serving the community and those around you. Academics: supporting yourself in every way and having your fraternity support you. Brotherhood: find a friendship that'll last a lifetime. So I joined my fraternity because of the different visions they had where they were then where they wanted to go and how I was going to be a part of that, and I really just wanted to be a part of something bigger than myself. When I first came to UNG, I had no intentions of rushing and then a couple of my brothers came to my apartment one night and sat me down and started talking about what our training is all about. As a business student, I saw a lot of opportunity because over 85% of business fortune 500 CEOs are coming from the fraternity and sorority. I thought it would help me later in life and then once I joined that really opened my eyes to how much more this is than just a business connection or a network connection and you actually find your brothers and your friends and the people who grow you into the person you want to become. The key in all this is to find a place where you belong a home away from home. Even though we all come from different walks of life there's a fraternity for every man but no matter which one you choose your home, your home, is here.
