Interdisciplinary Studies (IDST) Courses

IDST 2000

IDST 2000 "Introduction to Interdisciplinary Studies" provides students with a general overview of the general studies major so students will have a stronger understanding of the requirements for the bachelor degree. Any student may take this course, though the ideal student is either a general studies major or a student considering switching to this major.

IDST 4000

IDST 4000 "Interdisciplinary Studies Senior Seminar" provides an organized structure to the degree program and should be taken at or near completion of the baccalaureate degree program. The course provides the educational milieu for students to integrate their educational experiences within each of the three areas of concentration. Students will also learn interdisciplinary research strategies and that will allow them to explore the connections among and between their various disciplines.

To qualify for this course, ideally, a general studies student must have completed one area of concentration and have taken at least three courses in each of the other areas of concentration.

(This course was originally labeled GSTU 4000 "General Studies Senior Seminar.")
