Finding Funding

GCA subscribes to various grant databases to help you identify available funding opportunities. UNG faculty and staff can access these search tools directly (see information below), as well as fill out a Funding Profile (a.k.a. Investigator Profile) to help GCA staff learn more about their research or project goals so we can assist in locating an appropriate sponsor.

While searching for the best funding opportunity,

  • Review an agency’s mission statement and their goals to see if they align with your own
  • Read the program’s mission statement, check eligibility criteria, and study the past awards made to get an idea of the type of projects being supported
  • Consider serving as a peer reviewer to learn about an agency’s review process and what they are looking for

AASCU Grants Resource Center

The Grants Resource Center (GRC), a service of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU), is a comprehensive resource available to UNG employees. GRC staff cultivate the latest federal and private funding opportunities and news.

GRC provides grant funding opportunity search tools and general (useful) information on agencies and funding trends. Fill out a Funding Search Form from their Funding Resources tab, or submit a GRC Funding Search Request to have GRC do so on your behalf, and one of GRC's experts will assist you in finding funding. You can also find examples of funded proposals in the Funded Proposal Library. Contact grants@ung.edu for login information.
