Beginning in the 1970's the Dahlonega Club was established to plan community events and help preserve Dahlonega’s history. With the support of the local government the Dahlonega Club annually planned the festivities for the 4th of July. The Dahlonega Club also held the deed for the Vickery house from 1975 until the 2000's. Serving as primary care takers for the property and the tour guides throughout the house. Until the transfer of the Vickery House to the University of North Georgia, the Dahlonega Club served its community by hosting and organizing events.Scope and contents
This collection contains materials related to the planning of events and the restoration of the Vickery House. The collection also contains photos from inside the Vickery House. Of note are the original Dahlonega Club Constitution and bylaws.Arrangement
