Title: Assistant Professor, Math
NCAA Faculty Athletics Representative
Phone: 706-867-2722

Office: Newton Oakes Center 225, Dahlonega

Margaret joined the faculty in August, 2000, after teaching part-time in the late ‘90's.  She holds a B.S. in Mathematics, and an M.Ed and Ed.S. in Mathematics Education from Georgia Southern University. Margaret teaches mainly freshman-level College Algebra courses and Math Education 3000/6000 level courses for K-12 pre-service teachers. While at UNG, she has been involved in the Leadership Roundtable, the Corps Mentoring program and numerous other committees that foster her two passions: developing community among faculty and staff and mentoring students.

In 2008, Margaret was named Faculty Athletics Representative. In this role, Margaret acts as a liaison between student-athletes and faculty. She is also Special Advisor to First-Year and International Student-Athletes and meets frequently with these students to ensure that they are able to navigate the academic expectations at UNG while also competing on the Division II level. Margaret is active in the Faculty Athletics Representative Association and has served on several NCAA committees (see this link for more information).
