Dr. Eric Skipper’s critical volume on Laura Esquivel’s best-selling novel Like Water for Chocolate has received a positive review in the Bulletin of Spanish Studies (Volume XC, No. 3, May 2013). Reviewer Sarah Bowskill said, "…this well-presented volume, which includes abstracts and an index, provides a very useful, single point of reference for an overview of the kinds of critical responses this novel has elicited."
The book, A Recipe for Discourse: Perspectives on "Like Water for Chocolate" (Rodopi 2010), was also reviewed favorably in the journal Hispania (Volume 95, No. 2) in June 2012. Skipper, a professor of Spanish, serves as dean of Honors and Graduate Studies at UNG.
