Dr. Timothy Singleton of Dahlonega, a retired faculty member, died Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at the age of 76.
Singleton came to then-North Georgia College in 1989 to teach business and was the Lee Anderson Chair of Management in the business school when he retired from the university.
A graduate of Georgia Tech, Singleton ran track and played football under Bobby Dodd. Singleton started the Atlanta Track Club and in 1970 helped found the Peachtree Road Race, which is held in Atlanta every July Fourth. He was inducted into the Atlanta Sports Hall of Fame in 2011.
Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10 at Saint Elizabeth Episcopal Church in Dahlonega.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 9 at the funeral home.
Funeral arrangements are pending, but are being handled by Dahlonega Funeral Home.
