The Georgia House and Senate Education committees will be holding a series of listening sessions throughout the state beginning in October, including a session at the Dahlonega Campus of the University of North Georgia (UNG), scheduled for Oct. 8. The meeting will be hosted by Rep. Kevin Tanner and Sen. Steve Gooch.
The statewide sessions are to gain feedback from the public about important issues related to K-12 education. Sessions will begin with a meeting comprised of local superintendents from 3 to 4 p.m., followed by a meeting of local board of education members from 4:15 to 5:15 p.m., and ending with listening sessions from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. for superintendents, board of education members, teachers, parents, and other members of the community. The public is encouraged to attend.
The session at UNG will be held in the auditorium of the Health & Natural Sciences Building, located on Sunset Drive.
