Mary Jackson, a sophomore piano student at UNG, was selected as one of only three recipients of the prestigious Atlanta Steinway Young Artist Scholarship. She received $1,000 from the Atlanta Steinway Society and the Roger Williams Trophy.
Jackson and the other two scholarship recipients performed in September at the Peachtree Presbyterian Church in Roswell to showcase their noteworthy talent and skill. The program included selections from Maurice Ravel’s "Mother Goose Suite," Claude Debussy’s "Prelude to an Afternoon at Faun," and a number of other compositions.
The Atlanta Steinway Society is a collection of musicians and music enthusiasts passionate about piano performance and nurturing future piano artists. All scholarships that the Atlanta Steinway Society offers are funded through member donations.
