The University of North Georgia Office of Alumni Relations & Annual Giving is offering students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends discounted admission at Zoo Atlanta on Saturday, Sept. 20.
"We want to engage our alumni, their families, students, and friends of UNG, and have a fun Saturday at the zoo and with our UNG community. It’s a family-friendly event for people of all ages," said Sarah Dunlap, alumni relations officer.
Zoo Atlanta will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and members of the UNG community can stop by the UNG Alumni welcome tent inside the entrance between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. The first 150 visitors will get free UNG souvenir. Zoo Atlanta is located at 800 Cherokee Ave. SE, Atlanta, Georgia 30315. Parking is free.
"We are excited to have an event in the metro Atlanta area, where many of our UNG alumni reside," said Amy Lancaster, alumni relations officer.
The discounted tickets are $16.99 for adults and $11.99 for children ages 3-11. Admission is free for children 2 years old and younger.
To buy discounted tickets online, visit http://www.zooatlanta.org/discount_tickets. The user name required is "UniversityofNorthGeorgia" and the password is "UNG1873." Discounted tickets may also be purchased at the ticket booth on the day of the event by mentioning "UNG" to get the discount.
The Office of Alumni Relations & Annual Giving will be hosting other events throughout fall semester including Nighthawk Networking Breakfast on Sept. 25 on UNG's Cumming Campus, the UNG Alumni Scholarship Cup on Oct. 13 at Chattahoochee Golf Club in Gainesville, and Nighthawk Networking Happy Hour on Oct. 30 at Scott's Downtown in Gainesville.
The upcoming events are open to alumni, faculty, staff, friends, and retired faculty and staff. Registration is available on the UNG Alumni website.
