Three University of North Georgia (UNG) staff members have completed a program that improves the supervisor’s skills in several areas, such as communication, team building, time management and customer service. The new program, the Supervisor Certificate Training Program, is offered by UNG's Human Resources Department and is accessible for all staff supervisors and managers or those who aspire to become a supervisor.
The rigorous 37-hour training program includes 20 hours of SkillSoft online training and 17 hours of classroom training. Completion of the Supervisor Certificate Training Program also earns participants 3.7 continuing education units, also called CEU.
The initial program was conducted on UNG's Gainesville Campus; three individuals finished the course in July 2015: Marvene Saenz, Justin McCalla and Molly Potts, all three from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. The course will be offered again beginning in August and will be conducted on the Dahlonega Campus.
