Overview

Patti has taught at the University of North Georgia for 18 years. She was facilitator of the Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program, Gainesville campus for 12 years. She then moved to the Dahlonega campus and assumed ASN Program Coordinator for three years. Upon closing of the ASN program, she assumed the role of BSN Program Coordinator for two years. Due to the expansion of the BSN program, Patti is proud to be back at Oakwood again as BSN Coordinator of the Gainesville campus. Patti’s special interests are Oncology care and Palliative care. Her work experience includes 42 years of nursing, some in nursing management at Northeast Georgia Health System, oncology care at Emory University Hospital, hospice care and education in Athens, Georgia. Patti is past President of Lanier Chapter Oncology Nursing Society, and Past President Tau Psi, Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society. She has been an educator for End of Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC) and Hospice and Palliative Nurse Association (HPNA).
