Dr. Johnson arrived at UNG in August 2016. Her capstone DNP project focused on the effects of diabetes and its impact on mediastinal rates of infection. She previously functioned in an advanced practice role as a clinical nurse specialist at Emory University Hospital, Midtown in the Cardiovascular step-down unit and in Perioperative Services. Dr. Johnson has served as an adjunct faculty member at Brenau University School of Nursing and as a clinical instructor/ course facilitator at Georgia Perimeter College for the Advanced Concepts of Nursing course.
