New Students

You’ve applied, been admitted, and confirmed your acceptance, so the next phase in your college journey starts at New Student Orientation (NSO) or Transfer Student Orientation (TSO). All incoming freshmen and transfer students with fewer than 30 credit hours are required to attend an in-person new student orientation.  All other degree seeking students are highly encouraged to attend orientation, as it is the first opportunity for class registration. Students who choose not to attend a session will register during late registration, which is generally on or around the first day of classes.

By participating in orientation, you will:

  • Learn about the university’s mission, culture, and values and discover what it means to be a UNG Nighthawk.
  • Connect with faculty, staff, and student leaders and hear their ideas for how to make the most of your first college year.
  • Become familiar with important campus resources and policies and schedule your first semester of classes.

UNG follows Section 508 Standards and WCAG 2.0 for web accessibility. If you require the content on this web page in another format, please contact the ADA Coordinator.
