Dahlonega Campus: In-Person Orientations

Before You Begin

In-person orientation is only required for some students. Read Student In-Person Orientation: Getting Started  to determine if you need to attend and more essential information.

You should also read the Orientation Policies for important information on attendance, scheduling, cancellation and more. 

Student Orientation

One-Day Orientation Sessions

The cost for full-day student orientation sessions on the Dahlonega Campus is $40 (includes lunch). Students are highly encouraged to bring one parent or family member with them to orientation for an additional $15. 

Two-Day Orientation Sessions

The cost for two-day student orientation sessions on the Dahlonega Campus is $130 (includes meals and lodging). Students are encouraged to bring parent or family members with them to orientation for an additional $50 per guest. 

To Register: 

  1. You must Confirm your acceptance before registering for orientation.
  2. Log in to the View Application Status pagenew window. After ensuring your information is correct, select the orientation button in the right-hand sidebar. 
  3. Select an orientation session from the list provided and then complete all required information. Only the orientation sessions for which you are eligible to register will appear.  If you cannot attend any of the sessions listed, please us an email at otp@ung.edu from your UNG email account with an explanation regarding the conflicts. 

Paying for Orientation

The orientation fee will automatically be added to your student invoice once you reserve a space in an orientation session.

Online Payment: You may pay online with a credit card or web check (powered by TouchNet), or you may mail a check to the business office in Dahlonega. For questions regarding the student orientation fee payment process please contact the Business Office.

Payment by Check: Checks must be received within 10 days of scheduling your session. Please note your Student ID and the word “orientation” in the memo section at the bottom and mail to: University of North Georgia, Attn: Business Office, 82 College Circle, Dahlonega, GA 30597. Please Note: A separate check must be mailed for the Student Orientation fee and the Parent and Family Orientation fee.

What to Bring

  • Photo ID
  • Any outstanding official transcripts
  • Any outstanding immunization records
  • Any outstanding financial aid documents, such as those needed for verification
  • Completed class scheduling worksheet (login required), if desired.  Learning Support students should use the Learning Support Student Scheduling Worksheet (login required).
  • Time! Please plan to stay for the entire session.

Parent & Family Orientation

Parent & Family Orientation sessions will: 

  • Introduce you to important university policies and procedures;
  • Increase your understanding of how to connect your student to the university resources that are available; and  
  • Provide you with tips for helping your student through this time of intellectual and developmental growth.

The fee for Parent and Family Orientation on the Dahlonega Campus is $15 per guest for one-day orientation sessions and $50 per guest for two-day orientation sessions. Space is limited.

Lodging is not provided for Parent and Family Orientation attendees during the two-day orientation sessions. Attendees will need to make arrangements for off-campus accommodations. You can visit Dahlonega's Stay the Night page to find local lodging options.  Students attending the concurrent orientation are required to stay in UNG housing during the event.

The Parent and Family Orientation fee is non-refundable. Please secure your student's orientation reservation prior to reserving a space in PFO. 

Do You Need an Accommodation?

If you have a disability and require an accommodation (such as a sign language interpreter, or orientation materials in another format), please contact Student Disability Services to make arrangements no later than one week prior to your orientation session.
