Overview

Dr. Walter earned his Ph. D. in Counseling and Human Development from the University of Georgia in 1988.  He came to Gainesville College/University of North Georgia in 1989 as Associate Dean for Student Development.  He has held administrative positions at Gainesville College, Gainesville State College and the University of North Georgia since that time.  During most of those years, he has taught at least one class.  He currently serves as the University Ombudsman and teaches two classes each semester in the Department of Psychological Science.

Dr. Walter is an Ordained Permanent Deacon, currently serving at Prince of Peace Catholic Church.  He also serves as a Volunteer Chaplain at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
