Missing Your Squad? Connect With your Community Virtually Transcript

Hello Nighthawks, my name is Aubrey Frazier, and I have the pleasure of serving as the director for Fraternity and Sorority Life.

Everyone's going to be dealing with this experience differently and that's OK. These are unprecedented times. You've never dealt with this before. I've never dealt with this before. Our routines have been altered during this time of transition. Our social habits have been changed, which can be very scary if we let it. But don't let it be scary.

We need each other right now. Fraternities, sororities, student organizations are perfectly positioned to do just that: Provide our students the human interaction and connection that they need right now.

Our organizations were created to provide a sense of community and belonging to its members outside of an academic classroom, and that's something that all of our clubs and organizations on campus can provide to its members.

Now, more than ever, we're looking for that community, that purpose, that sense of belonging when it's so easy to feel isolated right now. This isn't a time to put a pause on the way that we're feeling or the community that we're creating, but it's time to dig deeper into the relationships that we have and the avenues that we have to create that community.

To that end, we would like to challenge all of you to reach out to your friends and loved ones to let them know how much you care about them because during this time it is more important than ever that we students come together and strive to care for one another.

We'd also like to challenge our student leaders to find ways that you can continue to support your fellow students. You never expected something like this to happen when you accepted your leadership role and neither did I, but at times like these your effective and authentic leadership has the chance to truly be felt by those around you.

You are resilient. You are strong. Fraternity and Sorority Life cannot wait until we are all reunited on campus. And we will be here in full force. We aren't going anywhere. Fraternity and Sorority Life has a strong legacy. UNG has a strong legacy, and we're all going to get through this together.
