Veterans Adult Learners We're in this Together Transcript

Hello, Nighthawks, my name is Christy Orr, and I'm the assistant director of student life, and I oversee the Veteran and Adult Learner Programs here at the University of North Georgia.

Times are tough right now. We've never experienced anything like this before, but when we unite together, we can press through anything that stands in our way.

Veterans and current military, you know better than anyone what it means to have a unified team to get you through your difficult battles.

Adults, who better for us to lean on during hard times than our friends and family? Your UNG family is here for you. If you need financial assistance or support with tutoring, advising, finding resources or simply have a question and you don't know who to ask, let us know.

As we always say, if we don't know the answer, we'll find the answer for you.

Taking online classes can be a huge curveball, but life has thrown you curveballs before. So focus on how you made it through those times, take your time, but don't procrastinate on your assignments, reach out to your professors for assistance, and most importantly, believe in yourself.

You've got this. And we know life doesn't always fit into the Monday through Friday 8-to-5 time slot. Make sure to like us on Facebook and join us on UNG VALP connect page to find information about UNG and community resources.

You can also find links to schedule virtual appointments with us. I know it's hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel, but we will get there.

Take care of yourselves, take care of your friends and family, and remember we are Nighthawks and we will soar through this together.
