Research/Special Interests

Mr. Crandalls’ research interests focus on guiding students to discover syntactic constructions by providing them with examples in the foreign language being taught and then guiding them to find the grammatical point instead of telling them the syntactic point being taught and hoping they will understand it. He is also interested in showing sentence examples in multiple languages and challenging them to observe the similarities and differences between those languages as a way to challenge them to to learn new languages. In other words, he is interested in observing and communicating language universals.
