Overview
Dr. Erikson received her Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she specialized in contemporary Iberian literature, film and culture, with a focus on the representation of violence in Spanish film. Her research interests also include immigration, masculinities, and environmental cultural studies. She works with the nonprofit organization “Unidos Somos United” in the greater Atlanta area to engage the local community in a celebration of Hispanic culture, and to develop curriculum and activities focused on Hispanic culture in collaboration with the public school system. She has also worked as a medical interpreter.
