Kristen Meintzer

Title: Licensed Professional Counselor

Mrs. Meintzer joined the University of North Georgia in November of 2020. Since 2010, she has experience working in community and mental health with a variety of age ranges and presenting concerns, focused primarily on severe and persistent mental illness. She has also worked in residential substance abuse treatment. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from State University of West Georgia and a Master of Education Degree in Clinical Counseling Psychology from State University of West Georgia. Her counseling approach is diverse with a focus on person centered, mindfulness, dialectical behavioral, and psychoeducational interventions. Her areas of interest include effective communication, trauma, addiction, and adjustment to adulthood.
