Research/Special Interests

Dr. Osmond's research interests are in the broad areas of vertebrate and invertebrate physiology. Recently he has begun a project investigating the resistance of a specialized strain of dermestid beetles to the toxin formaldehyde. He is studying the metabolic clearance and degradation of the toxin in the beetle and in its gut microbiota.

Dr. Osmond is also interested in assessment and content retention strategies that promote scientific language formation.
